DONT ASK DONT TELL: BLACK LIVES MATTER

BLACK LIVES MATTER

Don't Ask Don't Tell has always been a social and political party. The name itself arises out of the destruction of the DADT military policy back in January of 2011. We pride ourselves on respect, inclusion, and love. Three unwavering principles that when you walk through the doors of Great Scott you feel right away.

Atrocious events of discrimination have been on the rise over the past few years, and they have begun to demand our attention. This disrespect towards the black community is unacceptable and truly destructive to our nation as a whole. The injustices must be rectified.

So what can we do to help?

This DADT will accomplish three things.

1. raise awareness

2. raise money for the Black Youth Project (more information below regarding this non profit)

3. celebrate and enjoy the talents of some of Boston's best black performers

The night will be soaring high as all three DJs take to the floor with their unique styles and selections!

BLK. ADONIS
Blk. Adonis has made a name for himself in the music world. With hits featured in Interview magazine, he has a national presence and is a force to be reckoned with behind the decks. He is

DRAG SHOW!
Our performers this month are three of Boston's most ambitious queens. Each with their own flair and talents, but all with a passion to push limits of entertainment and art. Please put your hands together and get your dollar bills out for:

SEVERITY STONE
The longest running continuous performer of DADT Severity is edgy, funny and raw. Her alternative approach has most recently landed her the winning title of Salem's Scream Queen this past Halloween.

QYA CRISTAL
With energy and charisma to spare, Qya explodes on the stage as a true diva does. With enrapturing performances of popular hits she is always a crowd favorite. Glamour, MAMA. Think gold and diamonds.

EMPHYSEMA MENTHOL ONE HUNDREDS
Probably one of the most innovative queens DADT has ever hosted. Emphysema gives you the unexpected. Having performed as everything from a horrifying angler fish to splashing around in a mud bath throwing it everywhere you won't be able to take your aways off the stage.

Our resident VJ Nick Day will be paying tribute to black culture with historical clips, influential movies, and music videos woven together to bring a visual experience to the night.

A portion of the remaining proceeds will the donated to the Black Youth Project. For more information on this social organization for the empowerment of black youth and their families please visit: www.blackyouthproject.com/about

Lets all come together and celebrate the black community for all the incredible gifts they have given this country and the world.
Lets be positive about the future and not accept injustice.
Lets make sure everyone knows that we believe BLACK LIVES MATTER
