DONT ASK DONT TELL: LUMINOUS FT. LEAH V and DIRTY CHARITY

December is the darkest month of the year.
2017 has been a pretty dark year in general.
Lets light it up!

For the single last night before we enter 2018 DADT is bringing a glowing touch to Great Scott! Everything from the performers, to the venue itself will be lit up with LED's, glowsticks, the WORKS.

We encourage you as well to come party with any light up, glowing, accessories or outfit you may own!

The house will be made jolly bright by the immensely talented costume, lighting and set designer ---->>> DIRTY CHARITY.
This will also be her debut DJ gig to the world. Expect to feel filthy by the time she is done with you. Her musical selections tend to lean towards pussy popping madness. Twerking on another level.

Plus! One of Boston's MOST awarded DJs will take to the decks as well. LEAH V is in the house! Winner of Best DJ in Boston according to the BMAs, plus queer lifeblood mama of the scene for close to a decade, Leah has chops. Serious chops.

Of course, resident DJ COLBY DRASHER will be on duty ensuring the music is as high energy as the lights are bright.

Featuring a VERY bright DRAG SHOW! As aforementioned all of the performers will feature designs courtesy of Dirty Charity. Their performances will lighten up your year! This month the show features:

SEVERITY STONE
SHAM PAYNE

PLUS A SURPRISE GUEST!

DONT ASK DONT TELL: DIVA ft. GUEST DJ JAMES CERNE

Wikipedia discusses 'diva':

In 1992, singer Annie Lennox released her first post-Eurythmics album Diva. The same year, En Vogue released their album Funky Divas. In 1998, VH1 debuted its first annual VH1 Divas concert in support of VH1's Save The Music Foundation. The concert event brought together five of the world's most celebrated divas: Mariah Carey, Gloria Estefan, Celine Dion, Shania Twain, and Aretha Franklin.

Diva can also refer to a woman with a reputation for being temperamental or difficult to please. In show business, having a "diva attitude" implies someone who is self-important or hard to work with.

Beyonce discusses 'diva':

A diva is a the female version of a hustla'

This month at Boston's largest QUEER party we are celebrating DIVAS of both past and present! Normally DADT is know for its forward thinking musical guests and selections, but for November we are focusing on the BEST jams from the 80s, 90s, 00s and today! And we're doing it ALL NIGHT LONG!

What better way to shake off all that tofurkey?

~~~~~~~WITH SPECIAL GUEST DJ~~~~~~~~
JAMES CERNE
James has been kicking around playing disco house and techno music in LA and Boston for the past 7 years. He's remembered locally for throwing the legendary FOXY parties and his West coast resume includes Queen Kong, Shits & Giggles, Pink Sabbath Bears in Space, Mustache Mondays, Ostbanhoff and Summertramp. He currently plays for the sexy fetish party in NYC called INFERNO. He knows his diva musical history. Trust.
DONT ASK DONT TELL: BABASHOOK Spooky Ball w/ GOODDROID / HerShe / Colby Drasher
IF ITS IN A WORD
OR IF ITS IN A LOOK
YOU CANT GET RID OF
THE BABADOOK
This October... Boston's longest running QUEER party will keep you holding your breath... and watch you lose it.
Let's get scary and wild like only the queer community can-
Halloween is a time when everyone dresses up, so there is really no reason to be afraid~~~ just take this candy from me little boi.
And we wont skimp on our end of the deal either- Prepare to be blown away by the DJ talent we have lined up!
:: HEADLINING DJ ::
GOODDROID
https://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/gooddroid/biography
https://soundcloud.com/gooddroid
Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, and finally returning back home from many years Miami, Adrianna “Gooddroid” Moschides is no stranger to the behemoth that is Bass music. DJ’ing for over 12 years, her name has become synonymous with all things Bass, as she shared the decks with some of the best in the business.
Gooddroid’s sound is far from simple, and almost instantly recognizable. Her mixes exemplify great range, often incorporating complexity, while always maintaining the groove. From incredible track selection to impeccable mixing, she never ceases to impress crowds worldwide.
Staying true to her roots – the deeper side of bass – she has managed to convert even the biggest skeptics into fans. In a city that does not tend to gravitate towards “deeper”music, she managed to find a home for the bass community in her bi-weekly party, ‘Down’, which brought some of the scene’s biggest headliners to Miami for the first time.
It’s only fitting she is now the president and C.E.O of Loveless Records, providing worldwide releases tailored to forward-thinking Bass music and techno. Approaching over thirty artists signed, Gooddroid has managed to gather some of the most talented up and coming artists, all under one roof. Loveless has been featured on XLR8R, DJ Mag, Mixmag, Thump, among others, and continues to build momentum. Gooddroid is also the host of Loveless FM, a monthly radio show on newly founded radio station, The Lot Radio. Every week showcases the best and the brightest in all things Club, Bass, and beyond; featuring guest DJ sets from top international artists.
Gooddroid also started a monthly Vogue night with her partner that has been running for four years, giving the ballroom community a place to shine and win cash for their talents while also introducing the mostly underground scene to the general public. Catwalk has received critical claim and mainstream success, and was voted Best Monthly Party in Miami by the Miami New Times.
She holds several residencies in Brooklyn and Miami and has toured nationally and internationally.
DONT ASK DONT TELL: QUEER FASHION w/ AFROPANTHER
Grace Jones.
Annie Lennox.
David Bowie.
Leigh Bowery.
What do these individuals have in common?
Queer Fashion.
This month at Boston's longest running queer party we put the spotlight on suave. Explore the limits of gender and identity through the use of wardrobe. There are so many lqqks to choose from the freedom can almost be suffocating! But its not. So grab your lipstick, your doc martins, your lace and your leather-
Our musical guest this month is a DJ not unfamiliar with the Boston scene-
AFROPANTHER
https://www.facebook.com/pg/iamafropanther/
Teddy Valentine, also known by the stage name Afropanther, is a DJ, performer, and producer from Hartford, Connecticut. Afropanther is based in the Northampton, Massachusetts area and is a Pioneer Valley favorite amongst fans of all different demographics. Before Northampton, Afropanther lived in Montreal, Quebec for 3 years. While performing under the name DJ Noisewavvesz, they held 2 weekly DJ nights at Bar Backstage in the Village. Just recently in August, Afropanther deejayed for Lucas Charlie Rose's set at FIERTE CANADA 2017 and also had the pleasure of headlining Black Lives Matter Montreal's Benefit Fundraiser at La Sala Rossa. They have also performed at Bar Le Ritz for SLUT ISLAND MUSIC FEST 2017 and Divan Orange supporting Lucas Charlie Rose and TransTrenderz. After leaving Montreal in 2015, they came to the Pioneer Valley and started the legacy of Afropanther. Afropanther has been based in the valley for almost 3 years now and this past August has left the Iron Horse Entertainment Group, where they used to hold Hip Hop Takeover every Tuesdays and#THIRST DJ DANCE PARTY every 3rd Friday at the Basement in Northampton. They have also been booked at Iron Horse Music Hall, The Monkey Bar, Bishops Lounge, Pearl Street Nightclub, as well as at all Five Colleges (Smith College, UMass, Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College) for year round events. Afropanther has won the heart of university students and is popular amongst the local townies in the Pioneer Valley/Five College area. In April 2017, Afropanther was asked by the Mount Holyoke Faculty/Student committee to open up for Waka Flocka Flame for the school's annual SPRING JAM. DONT ASK DONT TELL: RICK AND MORTY (SCIENCE THEME) ft. GLOWWORM
Wuba duba dub dub!
Boston's QUEER party for EVERYONE is BACK!
This month we are simultaneously celebrating two things- The UNDENIABLE TRUTH that science offers us as human beings. AND the existential phenomenom that is Rick and Morty!
The options to dress up are as endless as the universe itself- Aliens, any character from the show, your twist on a scientist, a test tube, one of the elements, a star, literally almost anything.
To help us fire up Boston's bunsen burners we have the fabulous assistance of DJ superhero:
!!!! GLOWWORM !!!!
"Since the early nineties, glowworm has been recording mix tapes from fuzzy radio stations, and passing them out unwarranted to friends and family.
“You want The Macarena three times in a row on side A? No? Well you can just keep that anyway.” - glowworm, age 9
With a strong belief that everyone should have access to good dance tracks, she continued to share music. At the ripe old age of 15, someone let her use a computer to find all the music ever in the world. It was then she discovered trip hop, breakbeats, and electronica, and apologized to everyone for making them do The Macarena. After emerging from a dark period called art school, she decided all she ever wanted to do was dance and listen to music forever. Continuing to pass out mix tapes to everyone and their mother, she eventually gathered all the kids who liked to party and they collectively set the roof on fire. One time, they almost made the second floor of a three family cave the fuck in. And then she met a junglist, which made her head explode, because drum & bass. After cleaning the blood and brains off the wall, glowworm stopped being a chump and started spinning anywhere they would let her. In between eating grimey beats for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, glowworm is pursuing a ph.d. in the art of bedroom dancing."
=============================
GLOWWORM will of course be joined by resident DJ/MC Colby Drasher! Never fear- the dance music is here.
PLUS DADT's gender bending, mind expanding DRAG SHOW will have you gathering empirical evidence on your identity! Line up including JUANITA PERCENT as RICK and more!
