DONT ASK DONT TELL: NINE YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Don't Ask Don't Tell Boston is Boston’s largest inclusive queer party! Our motto is ALL ARE WELCOME WHO WELCOME ALL! Come celebrate with us every fourth Saturday!
———————————————

This month DADT is turning NINE! Thats nine years of dancing, drag and dedication to the community! And as we approach a decade of events we ask are selves, is that really all there is to a party? NO! We have lots more! And more surprises up our sleeves.

This month we are celebrating with Boston’s award winning DJ L’Duke! Legend in the scene, and very busy DJ, L’Duke takes to DADT’s stage only for the biggest events. She will be joined by resident DJ Colby Drasher. Thats over two decades of DJ experience working hard to bounce that booty on the dance floor. And that’s certainly what we intend to do.

For our anniversary we are adding something very special to the mix—— A live performance by queer pop singer YAVIN. Their material is bright, fun, and very approachable! Dance your part while they perform a special set for DADT.

A FAUX PAS is a noun described as an embarrassing or tactless act or remark in a social situation. For our use we are translating it as a FASHION FAUX PAS.

We are talking layering plaid with paisley-
Neon and earth tones-
SOCKS WITH BIRKENSTOCKS...

I WILL STOP THERE.

Join us this month for a super fun theme where we encourage you to pull old clothes out of your closet you promised you would burn and assemble them on your body all together in the name of offending the fashion police!

Low Talk

"Lifelong collector and creator of electronic music, Boston native Low Talk can often be found in his humble porch studio interrogating sound sources as the midnight oil burns. DONT ASK DONT TELL: GLAMOUR *PAST AND PRESENT* FEATURING DJ BRIAN HALLIGAN

DADT is Boston’s largest queer party! Our motto is ALL ARE WELCOME WHO WELCOME ALL!
————————————————————————————————————————————

Glamour is an illusion of power, sophistication and confidence. It is abstract and therefore it is attainable by anyone who unlocks its secret visual and social code. Glamour is the seduction of the viewer. Wealth can be associated with glamour but you don’t necessarily need money to be glamourous. Look at the Merriam-Webster definitions of glamour;

1. An exciting spell
2. an exciting and often illusory and romantic attractiveness

We are paying tribute to the glamour of our queer community this month at DADT! Think ‘Paris is Burning’ met FX’s ‘Pose” and had a lovechild that was a dance party with Audrey Hepburn. Come as the most glamorous version of yourself! Whatever your fantasy is- live your best life and share it with the world! Glamour is a spell up for your interpretation! Long cigarette holders for the win tho…

The night will be filled with a broad range of glamorous music from across the decades to ensure your particular glam has its soundtrack! With very special guest DJ:

Brian Halligan
===========

Brian Halligan has deejayed locally at Milky Way, Machine, Oberon, The Alley, Club Cafe, Jacque’s Underground, Midway Cafe, and the Middlesex Lounge, both solo and as a guest DJ at Serving Face, Houseboi, Grassfed Disco, Boyfriends, Superstition, Group Hug, Traniwreck and Solid Gold Tea at Provincetown’s Boatslip, and held a residency at Cirque/Pub 47 Central for 2 years. He recently completed 2 summers of the weekly summer party, Wayback Wednesdays, at the historic A-House in Provincetown. He has guested for Chris Ewen’s own legendary Heroes, the offspring of his equally legendary Manray nights. In 2018 he released a 2 track sip EP, produced with local DJ and remixer Curtis Atchison (Midnight Society).

He was a frequent and beloved guest DJ for Harrison Carmichael’s Back2Basics Tea Dance at Club Cafe for 2 summers before assuming the full time residency in October of 2015, where he faithfully and passionately served generous sets of disco and house music before embarking on his own venture sip in October 2017 at Jacque’s Cabaret Underground. He frequently invites guest DJs including James Cerne, Math3ca, Garden Club, Houseboi DJs Pussywillow and Char, Brent Covington, Jimmy DePre, Gary Carlow, Reginald Johnson, Curtis Atchison (Midnight Society) and other veteran and emerging DJs to be announced. His goal is to continue the mission of preserving historically queer spaces, most recently carried on by Michael Flowers and Colby Drasher’s own fetish night at Jacque’s Underground, Fascination.

ALL ARE WELCOME WHO WELCOME ALL
Restrooms at every DADT event are GENDER NEUTRAL

DADT is Boston’s largest queer party! Our motto is ALL ARE WELCOME WHO WELCOME ALL!
——
Sex is all around us because we live in a hyper sexual world. We are animals with libidos but it goes much further than that. Sex is a form of communication, understanding,, currency, domination, submission and love.

This month at DADT we are celebrating and educating SEX! So polish that ball gag and stock up on lube cuz its gonna be a long night…

With beats by Resident DJ Colby Drasher and returning special guest DJ:

MATH3CA
—————
Math3ca was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but has been living in Boston since 2001. Like many involved in the scene, his love for music began when he heard his brother's collection of Baile Funk tapes at home. After moving to the United States, Math3ca started better curating his musical tastes when he was exposed to the gay nightlife scene in Boston. He befriended local DJ's: Brent Covington, James Derek Dwyer and Brian Halligan, and they soon became his mentors. He started by playing at small house parties among his friends, where the vibe was chill and the expectations were low. Soon enough he was asked to fill in for a gig for a DJ who cancelled last minute. After his first gig he circled around Boston as a guest DJ, fine tuning his music taste. In 2018 Math3ca finally created his own night, called LUV, with DJ James Derek Dwyer. This night was created the magical space Bella Luna Restaurant and Milky Way Lounge, the first gay bar Math3ca went to when he became legal. The inspiration for this night was to showcase his tasteful pop music and give back to the space he first partied at as a queer person.

You can hear his mixes at:

Featuring a seductive and sexually charged drag show with:
——————————————————————————————

**ROWAN DEEPE**

**HUNDRED**

& MORE TBA

Plus! Our friends at Pleasure Pie come baring offerings!
————————————————————————————

Pleasure Pie is a small sex-positive organization based in Boston. They make zines and art that challenge the taboo around sex, and encourage open, thoughtful conversation about sexuality. Their goal is to contribute to a cultural shift toward consent, sexual empowerment, and sexual rights. They will be selling their zines, art, pins, and tote bags at the event. You can find them online at pleasurepie.org or @pleasurepie on Instagram.

DADT will be donating a portion of the door sales to this Boston Sex Positive organization.

** With erotic video projections courtesy of Nick Day. **

DISCLAIMER*
THIS IS NOT AN ACTUAL SEX PARTY. Nothing that isn’t normally allowed is allowed at this event. Keep all your genitalia to your selves and in your clothes. Consent is sexy. If you want to talk to flirt with someone, do it, but be RESPECTFUL. NO UNWANTED TOUCHING. NO BODY SHAMING. NO ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES.

With that being said-
WE ARE STILL GONNA HAVE A WILD TIME!
